A serious security flaw was discovered in the foundation of computer hardware architecture that goes back as far as 1995 which means everything is affected by this bug including macOS users.
Vendors and Manufacturers are racing to issue a fix to prevent any exploits. Microsoft issued a fix but it’s causing problems with some hardware so today being Patch Tuesday (microsoft’s normal fix delivery day) everyone is hoping this bug will be fixed. But your computer could have an adverse reaction to this “fix” if your computer suddenly slowed down or became unresponsive it’s likely affected by this bug/fix.
In order to get your computer right again you should update it with the latest BIOS/Firmware update for your computer’s processor chip (INTEL/AMD) along with updating any other hardware that you have graphics card etc. It’s also a good idea to check on your software programs too to make sure they have the latest updates.
Your Antivirus program may cause problems with these updates and fixes, remove the program and evaluate computer if it solves the issue then you’ll need to update the program with the latest fix from the AV company IF they have issued it yet.
After all that is complete you should update windows with the latest security patches.
