iFixit is the authority on fixit guides for tech devices/gadgets.
It’s also the the driving force being the “Right To Repair” movement which is a cause to make companies like Apple, Dell, HP, Samsung etc. the ability to let their customers easy access to parts and supplies to fix the devices that they produce.
If you’ve never been interested in repairing your own devices or your not in the repair business you don’t realize how important this movement is.
It’s hard to get original parts and supplies for devices without going through 3rd party vendors or using aftermarket vendors which is often of lesser quality.
These big tech producers have until recently refused to give their parts and supplies to the public because they want to keep the repair in-house or just force people to buy new devices.
The Right to Repair says you should own your devices and you don’t really own your devices if you can’t repair them.
Apple’s Support is huge because they were the biggest and worst in the industry in refusing to share parts and supplies and they were against Right To Repair so with support from Apple now this is going to be the turning point to make Right To Repair a reality and Law of the Land.
